A Resounding Success: AIPPI Singapore’s Seminar on Trademark Oppositions and IP Trends
To kick off AIPPI Singapore’s 2024 program, on January 29, 2024, AIPPI Singapore hosted an insightful seminar at the offices of Drew & Napier, graced by the presence of Mrs. Rena Lee, Chief Executive of IPOS together with a team from IPOS comprising Sandy Widjaja, Liang Peishan and Ang Wunly. The event, chaired by Tony Yeo, President of AIPPI Singapore, provided a deep dive into the intricacies of bad faith in trademark oppositions and the latest in IP and tech dispute resolution.
We were very honoured to have Gabriel Ong and Mark Lim from IPOS’ Hearing and Mediations Department (HMD) share their expertise, along with Yuen Kit Kuan from Drew & Napier who provided an in-depth analysis of the Allschool v Outschool case. The presentations sparked engaging discussions and a lively Q&A session.
The seminar was not just about learning but also an excellent opportunity for networking during the tea break, fostering connections among members of the IP community.
The younger IP practitioners from members’ firms were also invited to join the seminar. It was a great opportunity for these younger IP practitioners to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the sharing with the rest of the IP community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the speakers and attendees for contributing to the seminar’s success. Stay tuned for future events and the continued sharing of knowledge and best practices in the field of intellectual property.
